What does 'production-ready' actually mean?
It means code that follows WordPress's own coding standards, checks security on every request, runs on PHP 8.1 through 8.5, stays fast at scale, and survives the next plugin update. This is the checklist every line of code we write, fix or review is held to.

The standard, section by section
Every file follows the WordPress PHP, JavaScript and CSS coding standards: naming conventions, spacing and documentation blocks a WordPress-familiar developer can read without a walkthrough. Code is checked against WPCS before it ships.
Every action that changes data is checked against four things: a nonce to confirm the request is genuine, a capability check to confirm the user is allowed to do it, sanitized input on the way in, and escaped output on the way out. Database queries use prepared statements, never raw string concatenation.
Code is tested against PHP 8.1 through 8.5, the range most hosts run today and the versions they move to next. No deprecated function calls and no silent notices left in place.
Any list, table or query that can grow uses pagination and an indexed column to sort or filter by. We do not run a database query inside a loop; data is batch-fetched once. Repeated reads use a cache with a clear way to invalidate it on writes.
We change how a plugin or theme behaves through its own hooks and filters, or in a small companion plugin. We do not edit another author's files directly, because the next update overwrites the edit.
Semantic HTML elements, labelled form fields, keyboard-reachable interactive elements and sufficient colour contrast are the baseline on anything we build or touch, not an afterthought added at the end.
Nothing is tested on your live site. Every change is made and verified on a staging copy first, then deployed once it is confirmed working.
